Freeform Five feat. Mylo – No More Conversations

Freeform Five is an electronic band based in London headed by Dj/producer/remixer and chief song-writer Anu Pillai. The band also includes lead vocalist Tamara Barnett-Herrin backed up by Cabba and other guests.

The 2004 debut album “Strangest Things” is an inspired mix of Prince, Blondie and Kraftwerk (thrown into the acid house blender). They also had a series of vinyl-only releases including “Perspex Sex”, “Electromagnetic” and “Eeeeaaooww”. Anu’s DJ mix albums Bisous Bisous II and Misch Masch came out in 2005 and 2006.

Freeform Five are well known for their remixes for artist such as N*E*R*D, Brian Wilson, X-Press 2 and David Byrne, Jamie Lidell, Justin Timberlake, Felix Da Housecat and The Killers. It was their much admired remix of Isolee’s “Beau Mot Plage” in 1999 that alerted many to this production outfit. They also had a hand in helping to re-work “Muscle Cars” by Mylo into a hit. No More Conversations was re-released in 2007 along with new remixes by Mylo, Fedde Le Grand, Mason, Switch and Subliminal Kid. Anu has also written with other artists such as The Glimmers, Mylo, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Richard X, Paul Epworth and Shinichi Osawa.

Freeform Five continue with dj gigs and live performances at clubs like Fabric(London), Manumission(Ibiza), Week End(Berlin), Razz(Barcelona), Paris Paris(Paris), Lux(Lisbon), The Parklife Festivals in Australia plus dates in Scandinavia, America and Japan.

Mylo (born Myles MacInnes in 1978 on Isle of Skye), is a Scottish electronic musician.

A 1999 graduate of philosophy, psychology & physiology at Brasenose College, Oxford, Mylo quit studying for a philosophy Ph.D at UCLA to return home and produce music.

He released his debut album, Destroy Rock & Roll in 2004, on the Breastfed Recordings label, which he co-owns. Mylo produced the album on a computer in his own bedroom.

He has provided remixes for the likes of Scissor Sisters (“Mary”), Amy Winehouse (“Pumps”), The Knife (“Take My Breathe Away”), and The Killers (“Somebody Told Me”). One of his notable works is a remix of Kylie Minogue’s #2 UK hit “I Believe in You” in 2004 which appeared on the single which peaked at #3 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the U.S.

His biggest chart success to date came in autumn 2005, when the single “Dr. Pressure”, a mash-up of his own song Drop The Pressure and Miami Sound Machine’s “Dr. Beat,” originally created by mashup artists Phil n’ Dog before being released by Mylo, peaked at #3 on the UK singles chart. The single performed well in the U.S., especially on the Hot Dance Airplay and Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts. It made the Top 10 on both charts. Following previous Top 20 hits he had had such as “Drop the Pressure” (#19), Destroy Rock & Roll (#15) and In My Arms (#13) during late 2004 and 2005.
